Inside the Mind of a Prop Trader
On his background:
“My name is Dương, and I currently work in Marketing. I was introduced to trading during the COVID-19 pandemic and started learning and practicing until I developed an approach that fits my style and delivers consistent results.”
On trading style and tools:
Dương relies primarily on EMA (Exponential Moving Average) to identify trends and find average price zones for entries. He prefers to trade during the London and New York sessions, when market volatility is highest and profit opportunities appear more frequently.
On discipline and routine:
Each morning, he checks the news for significant events, analyzes his selected currency pairs and commodities, and identifies potential trends and entry zones. His strategy is straightforward but effective : patience and discipline play a central role.
Lessons from Setbacks
Dương is candid about his challenges. He once lost nearly half his account balance in a single trade by using a volume size beyond his comfort zone. That experience shook his confidence, but it also taught him the critical importance of risk management.
To keep his emotions in check, he follows clear rules: if he takes two consecutive stop losses in the same price zone, he pauses trading and waits for a better setup.
