What does it take to thrive in the world of prop trading? For Gino Petrigni, a calm mind, unwavering discipline, and a methodical approach have made all the difference. His journey from a career in financial services to becoming a funded trader at The Trading Pit is a story of passion, structure, and the power of believing in your system—no matter the emotional storms the market brings.

A Spark Ignited by Curiosity

Born and raised in Naples, Gino’s early professional years were rooted in the financial and credit sector. But beneath the surface, a deep curiosity for the markets was steadily growing. The pivotal moment came late one night, watching a financial news segment that sparked a passion he could no longer ignore.

“I’ve always had this passion for trading,” Gino shared. “But what really inspired me was a news piece I watched at night. From that moment, I was hooked—I needed to understand how the markets worked.”

The School of Experience

Like many traders, Gino began his journey with high expectations and limited experience. The markets, however, had their own lessons to teach.

“At the beginning, you start with little experience and many expectations. Then the market puts you in place—and there you either reset or change your mindset.”

Through trial, error, and perseverance, Gino shaped a methodology built not on excitement, but on discipline. He embraced routine, documentation, and continuous review of his trades. He learned to detach from emotion and follow a system he trusted.

A New Chapter with The Trading Pit

Gino’s professional trading chapter began when a friend introduced him to The Trading Pit.

“I found a company that matched my trading style. I don’t take big risks. I trade calmly, and The Trading Pit gave me the chance to do that without changing who I am.”

Within three days of joining, Gino knew he had found the right environment. Trading with proprietary capital allowed him to focus on consistency rather than capital limitations—an essential shift for his trading mindset.

He recalls with pride the moment he passed the challenge:

“It was the day before the holidays. I reached the profit target while at lunch and closed the trade. I went on vacation not just happy to rest—but proud to have achieved my goal.”

The Power of Routine and Specialization

A key part of Gino’s success lies in his unwavering routine. He trades only one asset: the DAX Futures. His logic is simple—fewer variables mean deeper knowledge.

“I’ve been trading DAX since 2017—every day. It has almost become an obsession.”

Gino’s trading process is mechanical yet thoughtful. He documents each day’s results, analyzes them, and continuously sharpens his performance.

“Emotion or creativity can tempt you, but you have to stay inside your system and believe in it—because it’s consistency that pays off.”

Eyes on the Future

With a long-term vision in sight, Gino continues to trade with precision and purpose. His next goal? To reach the maximum capital allocation offered by The Trading Pit before he turns 50.

“I work every day for that goal,” he says with confidence.
