The chart price never reached my order, why was it executed?

A common question in trading is “The chart price never reached my order, why was it executed?”

There are 2 prices in a chart, bid and ask. The difference between the Bid price and the Ask price is the Spread.

Buy orders are opened at the ask price and closed at the bid price. Following the same, a sell order is opened at the bid price and closed at the ask price.

In our Platforms, by default, the price you can see the chart moving at is the bid price. If you want to see the ask price you will have to manually enable it through your platform, as shown below:

1) Right-click on your chart

2) Select Properties

3) Enable “Show Ask price Line”

From now on you will be able to see both the “Ask” and “Bid” prices.

In case you want to see the historical ASK price before you had enabled this toggle, you can do so only via MT5 by going to View and selecting Symbols.
