MetaTrader 5 FAQs

The differences between Metaquotes’ platforms are limited mainly to speed, tools, the number of pending orders, and tradable assets available. While MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is more prevalent among Forex traders and is not an older version of the MT5, the latter facilitates non-Forex CFDs trading.
The best platform between MT4 and MT5 depends on each trader’s needs and style. MT5 allows access to more markets, functionalities, analysis tools and features. However, MT4 remains the platform of preference for millions of traders for its simplicity and uninterrupted user experience.
You can’t use your MetaTrader 4 (MT4) trading account on the MetaTrader 5 (MT5). However, if both platforms are available, your broker may allow you to switch from one software to another.
Traders cannot use MetaTrader 5 (MT5) without registering a trading account with a broker. Although a Live trading account is necessary to trade on the MT5 platform, brokers usually provide traders with a Demo account to avoid risking real funds until they decide to move to their Live accounts.
